Thank you for your interest in joining Company 7. We are a committed ,hardworking and fun-loving team that is making a difference in our community. We welcome everyone who wants to help make our community a safer place to live. Membership in Company 7 is a rewarding experience. We look forward to you joining our team!
You can serve as a volunteer in many capacities. Here is a sample of what you can do:
1. Serve as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Company 7 will pay for the training for you to acquire these skills.
2. Drive our ambulance. Every day we have two 6-hour and one 12-hour overnight shift. We will help you practice and then support you to receive Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC). After certification, we’ll supervise you on practice and actual runs until you’re released to drive on your own.
3. Provide support in administration, fund raising, grant writing, care and maintenance of the building, grounds and ambulances.
4. Become a Junior Member at age 14 and begin to assist on the ambulance at age 16.
Once the application is received, we will check your references and background per state requirements, including criminal background and driving record checks. After that, the application is presented to the board and membership.
Volunteer Requirements:
1. Be 16 years of age at the point of application
2. Pass a Criminal History check
3. Pass a Fingerprint Check done by the Virginia Office of EMS
4. Provide a Driving History for review
5. Be able to read, write, and speak the English language
